Signature scent for officesThe reception that says the same thing every morning.

An office has two audiences.

Offices and workplaces

The visitor who comes once, and the people who walk in five days a week.

For the first the entrance is a calling card; for the second it is simply where the day begins. We do not promise that scent changes the way people work, because that cannot be substantiated. What does hold is that a building saying the same thing every day feels better to walk into than one that smells of carpet glue and coffee.

What is at stake

Situations

The entrance and reception

Visitors, applicants and suppliers form their judgement at the desk, usually within half a minute. One machine in the entrance keeps that first impression the same every day, including on a wet Monday in November.

Meeting rooms and quiet spaces

A meeting room that has been occupied all day smells of it. In the smaller spaces a set of reed sticks works; in the larger room a machine on a low setting. Music usually stays off there: quiet is the atmosphere.

The staff restaurant

Around midday the smell of food drifts through the building. A scent of its own in the adjoining spaces keeps the two apart. And with a programme of its own, lunch sounds different from the morning without anyone having to touch a dial.

The small spaces nobody mentions

Washrooms, cloakrooms and shower rooms shape the verdict on a building more than the facade does. A set of reed sticks at € 15 per month is enough there, and a machine too much.

Reception is the brand.Whoever walks in knows within ten seconds whose house this is.

What we deliver

Four layers, dosed per room.

  • A signature from brand and building

For an office we read not only the building but also what the company stands for. A law firm in a canal house lands somewhere different from a design studio in a warehouse, even when the floor space is the same.

  • A set-up per floor

Machines in the entrance, the restaurant and the larger rooms; reed sticks in the small spaces. We install the machines; your own team places the reed sticks itself with our short instructions. Your own team does the refilling, with the refills we send on time. We determine during the site visit where they go and at what setting.

  • Music for the public zones

Entrance, restaurant and, if you wish, the lift each get a programme of their own per part of the day. On the work floor we usually leave music out; there the effect is contested and the resistance considerable.

  • Image and language for the wall

A framed work for the entrance or the boardroom, and a poem that names what the company stands for. From the same signature, from € 250 one-off per work.

Investment

What it comes to each month.

An office usually starts with the entrance: one machine, € 85 per month. Add the staff restaurant and it becomes € 170. Washrooms, cloakrooms and small meeting rooms join in with reed sticks at € 15 per set per month. Music for the entrance is € 85 per month for new music and € 40 for existing music; a second zone counts as a second programme, and from six programmes onwards the meter stops building-wide at € 510 or € 240. For a head office with several floors we make a proposal per building. There is no sum up front, the term is thirty-six months and all amounts exclude VAT.

Questions

Questions about a signature scent for your office

What does a signature scent for an office cost?

An office usually starts with the entrance: one machine, € 85 per month. Add the staff restaurant and it comes to € 170. Washrooms, cloakrooms and small meeting rooms join in with reed sticks at € 15 per set per month. That is all-in, with no sum up front, a term of thirty-six months and excluding VAT.

Do people work better with a scent in the office?

We do not promise that, because it cannot be proven. In her 2009 review Herz shows that such effects come mainly from what people expect, not from the scent itself. What does hold: a building that says the same thing every day is more pleasant to walk into than one that smells of carpet glue and coffee.

Where does the scent go in an office?

Machines in the entrance, the staff restaurant and the large rooms; reed sticks in the small spaces such as washrooms, cloakrooms and small meeting rooms. During the site visit we decide where they go and at which setting.

What if a colleague finds the scent too strong?

Then the dosing goes down. That is a setting on the device, not a new formula. We would rather set a scent too soft than too strong, and after the first weeks we walk through the strength in each room with you.

Who installs and maintains the diffusers?

We install the machines and set the dosing. Your own team places the reed sticks with our short instructions. We send the refills on time; your own team tops them up. If something goes wrong with a device, we sort it out.

Shall we come and look?

Compose your package on the site and see at once what an entrance, or a whole building, comes to per month. Would you rather see and smell it first? Then request an exploration. We come by, walk from the revolving door to the restaurant, and only then does a proposal follow.
