Every work and every poem exists only once.
Made for your place, from the same signature as your scent and your music. Signed, numbered and framed, ready to hang.
Not from stock. There is only one.
Every work exists once. It is a composition of our own, not a stock image and not a copy of existing work. The Tone is the muted colour with a steady grain. The Trace is one fine line that follows the forms.
The poem is a work of its own, made its own way. The second part of this page is about the poem: a complete example and how it was designed.

From the place to the wall.

One poem. Only for your place.
Every poem starts with the place itself. For this example we imagined Het Zilverhuis, a boutique hotel in an old silversmith's workshop on the Oudegracht. What you see and feel there, from the wharf cellar to the baker on the corner, carries the poem.
Five stanzas, each with its own task: the place, the materials, the people, what the house stands for and what you take with you. The lines rhyme every other line and run on, so it reads like someone telling a story. Images instead of explanation.
The ending follows from what a guest should feel. Here that is coming home: not a hotel, but a home you know.
Written in Dutch, the language of the place.
From the place to the page.
